Fun Fall Events in San Diego – November 1-6, 2017

    2017 Breeders’ Cup World Championships

    The Breeders’ Cup is essentially the Super Bowl or World Series of Thoroughbred racing. This weeklong festival and celebration includes a variety of activities, programs, 5k runs, concerts, galas, gold tournaments and more! The Breeders’ Cup has 13 races over two days, November 3rd and 4th where the world’s best Thoroughbreds compete for over $28 million in awards and purses. Over 100,000 fans are expected to attend the events while millions more will watch the the live nine-hour NBC broadcast.

    San Diego Brewers Guild Festival

    San Diego Beer Week San Diego Brewers Guild

    The 15th Annual San Diego Brewers Guild Festival is a two-day event with samples from over 60 local San Diego breweries taking place during San Diego Beer Week. The weekend event raises funds for the San Diego Brewers Guild as well as local charities. Try some of your favorite local breweries and find your next favorite beer with unlimited beer samples. San Diego is home to more than 150 breweries and has an international reputation for award-winning beers. The event will also showcase local craft beer-friendly restaurants, food trucks and live music. This is a great event for any craft beer lovers.

    When: Friday, November 3 from 6pm-9pm and Saturday, November 4 from 1-5pm.

    Día De Los Muertos – Old Town San Diego’s Day of the Dead

    One of San Diego’s Día De Los Muertos celebrations takes place in Old Town San Diego. Day of the Dead is one of the most important holidays celebrated by those in Mexico and other Latin American countries. This day celebrates the unity between life and death to offer hospitality to the spirits of loved ones who have passed. This cultural event includes a marketplace of goods, entertainment, food, a tour of altars, a candlelight procession, art, decorations, music and face painting! Bring your whole family to enjoy this once a year celebration.

    California’s American Indian & Indigenous Film Festival

    The California American Indian & Indigenous Film Festival highlights current films from American Indian producers, actors, directors and filmmakers. This event is offering San Diego a look at some of the best films from American Indians working throughout Indian Country. This Southern California event takes place near one of the largest Indian reservations, which will draw a large crowd of tribal people, and near communities. The film festival will offer exclusive viewings and interactive dialogue and panel discussions after each screening.

    Viejas Outlet Center Ice Rink

    Winter is coming! With that said, we’re excited to announce that the Viejas Outlets ice rink is scheduled to open November 4 through January 28. Get a head start on your holiday shopping and take a break by ice-skating outside under sparkly holiday lights listening to your favorite holiday tunes. Seasonal holiday drinks and snacks are also available when you’re ready to take a skate break. Southern California’s largest ice rink is a great experience for the whole family.

    FallBack Festival – A Children’s Historic Street Faire

    Presented by the Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation, the 16th Annual Fallback festival is a family-friendly event where you travel back in time before iPhones and Xboxes. The festival takes you back to an old west town where you can pan for gold, ride ponies, listen to live entertainment, do crafts and more. Food and attractions are available for a fee.

    Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
