2018 soundON Festival of Modern Music
The 11th annual soundON Festival of Modern Music is a 4-day long event that features concerts, workshops, lectures, performances, and art curated by Mark Mezies. The series is titled “Voyages” and will feature works by international composers like Anne Lebaron, Katharaina, Toshio Hosowaka, and more. The workshop is a great opportunity for local student musicians to engage with and perform contemporary chamber music.

Hamilton – An American Musical
Whether you have been lucky enough to see this musical before or you just enjoy the soundtrack while you work out, the world famous Hamilton An American Musical is finally coming to San Diego. Learn about the story of one of America’s founding fathers, Alexander Hamilton. He becomes George Washington’s right-hand-man during the revolutionary war and went on to become the first Treasury Secretary of the new nation. You will enjoy a score that features jazz, R&B, rap, blues, and Broadway music.

The State of the Art – an Art Exhibition
“The State of the Art” exhibit presented by the San Diego Watercolor Society is featured in the Arts District in Liberty Station. View beautiful original paintings for sale, enjoy wine, food, and good conversation with other art enthusiasts.

EPIC Glow in the Dark Party
Benefiting Metugo, a nonprofit organization that supports newly diagnosed cancer patients by providing medical record organizers, the EPIC Glow in the Dark Party is sure to be a hit. There’s an obstacle course, fun games, art, prizes a silent auction, dancing, food, music, and glow in the dark fun! The course is less than a mile so it’s friendly for all ages and fitness levels.

Centuries of Opulence: Jewels of India Exhibit
This exciting exhibit features over 50 beautiful gemstone jewelry pieces that showcase over 300 years of adornment in India. You will see diamonds, sapphires, rubies, emeralds and other gems that represent religious and cultural symbolism, the wars fought for these gems and the historical tradition of gemology. These gems are on loan from a rarely seen private collection so don’t miss your chance to see them!

Beauty or Torture: Society’s Demand of Perfection Examined
This enlightening exhibit takes you through the history women’s appearances have been subject to scrutiny. You will see the extremes women took throughout history to alter their looks to conform to the beauty standards of the time. Learning more about different social beauty standards from different times will help us understand the changing social climates.
